Half-time score: Ulster 10 ? 12 Cardiff
Isaac Boss v Cardiff
Ulster game out strong at the start of the second half, Humphreys missed a penalty attempt right at the beginning of the half but Ulster gained the ball on the restart and soon after were given an opportunity for three points which Humphreys seized to put his side back in the lead with the narrowest of margins.
A few minutes later however Cardiff took the lead with a great bit of play from Jamie Robinson on 46 minutes, the centre broke free to score his 16th try of the season. However, Cardiff couldn't convert the try and another Ulster penalty four minutes later brought the two sides back to within a point of each other, 16 - 17.
Cardiff lost a second player to the bin during the second-half, prop John Yapp spending 10 minutes on the sidelines and the resulting penalty was Humphreys 4th successful effort of the evening. Ulster 19 - 17 Cardiff.
Spurred on by the crowd and after some great play from Roger Wilson and Paul Steinmetz in which Steinmetz was unlucky to score, Ulster's breakthrough came on 54 minutes when No. 8 Wilson drove forward from a five metre scrum to touchdown for the much-needed try which Humphreys converted. Despite some pressure in the last 15 minutes Ulster held on for the win which keeps them in contention for the Celtic League title.
Final Score: Ulster 26 - 17 Cardiff.
