Another Jones penalty was followed by a converted try from Llanelli's left wing Darren Daniels taking the score to 8-13. Moments later Stephen Jones converted another penalty and Ulster were losing their grip with the score at 8-16. Humphreys gave his team a much-needed lift with a penalty four minutes from the break.
Ulster started the second half with an early penalty taking the score to 14-16, which gave Ulster a real boost. The crowd came to life and really started cheering on the Ulster team, which made a massive difference. In the 58th minute Ulster were awarded another penalty taking the score to 17-16.
Ulster found their feet and Humphreys' pinpoint chip allowed Steinmetz to slide over for a converted try after 65 minutes taking the score to 24-16. In the last 10 minutes of the game Stephen Jones missed a crucial penalty. Ulster?s newcomer Mark Bartholomeusz scored in the final minutes securing a much-needed victory and starting his Ulster career well. The final score was 31-16.
