In the 27th minute Dan parks slotted a Glasgow penalty between the posts to take the points to 0-3, the penalty was for holding on in the ruck. In the final moments of the first half Glasgow right wing Rory Lamont ran over the line to get the first try of the evening, Parks duly converted it and the score at half time stood at 0-10.
Over 8,000 loyal Ulster supporters attended the game and in the 51st minute they saw a glimpse of the rugby that they all know Ulster can play when Andrew Trimble broke free to touch down for Ulster, the try was not converted but at 5-10 Ulster looked to be back in the game.
Glasgow did not allow those hopes to flourish and just ten minutes later John Beattie intercepted the ball and ran half the length of the pitch to touch down between the posts, Parks converted and took the score to 5-17. Seven minutes later Glasgow further cemented their victory when flanker John Barclay touched down, Parks converted and the score stood at a depressing 5-24.
Ulster did not give up and speedy wing Andrew Maxwell touched down in the final moments of the game leaving the score at 10-24.
