After half time Ulster made various substitutions and picked up their game. Paddy Wallace, a half-time substitution for Humphreys, made an immediate impact by setting up Bowe's opening try with long pass, which released the winger. Paddy Wallace converted the try taking the score to 10-3. Moments later John Fogarty scored for Connacht and McHugh slotted the ball between the posts taking the score to a depressing 10-10. Ulster didn't panic and Tommy Bowe touched down again in the 57th minute, Wallace failed to convert but the 5-point lead helped Ulster's spirits and in the 74th minute Neil Best touched down taking the score to 20-10.
With the second-placed Ospreys losing to the Scarlets, Ulster's win takes them seven points clear at the top of the table although they have played two games more.
Tommy Bowe was the Man of the Match.
Ulster will be hoping to improve on tonights performance for the "Last Stand" at Lansdowne Road on New Year's Eve, with a massive Ulster crowd travelling down to Dublin we would once again like to urge all Ulster supporters to wear RED!
